Simply Saturday - A very quick Silhouette Tracing tutorial

Hi everyone. Popping in quickly today to share a quick Silhouette tutorial with you.

I have had a few of my Polkadoodles teamies ask me how I do my tracing of the design sheets etc, from the Polkadoodles collections so I thought I would make this quick tutorial.

If you click on the photo's they will appear larger on the screen.

1.  Load the design sheet in to the Silhouette Designer program.

2. Go to the Trace Window and select the whole design sheet area.

3.  Uncheck High Pass Filter, and check Low Pass Filter, change the threshold too about 92%  you can play with this threshold till your happy :-)

4.  Once happy with the above , click the Trace Outer Edge Button.  Now occasionally due to colours, it can happen that it just doesn't want to do some of the images.  In the one below you can see the little heart didn't trace very well, but I figured I could cut that little one by hand :-)

5.  Put them back together, at which stage I select them all and then group them all together.  From here I can adjust the scale to fit within the cut/print parameters (don't forget to turn on your registration marks).  And we are ready to go :-)  Send it to your Printer.

6. Load away and cut :-)

7.  All done and now I just have to make something :-)

Hope this has helped some what.

Hugs and thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Crafting.

  2. Thank you - you've made it look a lot easier than it sounded. I haven't got my cameo set up yet but I do have the software loaded on my PC so I'm going to have a little try. x

  8. Sooooo...... my friend Keri gifted me her Silhouette. I've been itching to figure out more about the PolkaDoodles products and then this post. Thank you, already pinned it.

Now - can you make a post with your top three PolkaDoodles collections? Would you include the reasons why they are your favorite?

I've been browsing, but find myself overwhelmed by choices and so I've not clicked the checkout button.

Your projects are so beautiful and such an inspiration. I just need a push over the last hill. Thanks for this tutorial. I'm going to work on it.

  9. Fab tutorial Karon, so nice to see it simplified down, people get bamboozled by all the fancy gadgets on the interface - which I never use LOL!... To Andie Miller above - OMG! We can't have that! You should check out the polkadoodles gallery blog so you can see what you can make with each collection xxx
